3. Duplicate meta tags will be shown as errors
3. Robots, canonical, and hreflang tags
4. Favicon, author, viewport, and lang

A page can look fine in search results and broken when shared on social. This tab shows you what the link preview will actually look like on Facebook, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn (image, title, description) before anyone sees it.

1. Open Graph (og:title, og:image, og:description)
2. Twitter Card full preview
3. LinkedIn preview
4. Issue count badges per platform
5. Duplicate open graph, twitter tag detection and showing as errors

1. Complete H1–H6 heading tree
2. Missing or duplicate H1 detection
3. Heading hierarchy validation
4. Heading highlighting

Image Alt Text Checker

Every image on the page gets listed with its alt text, or a red flag where the alt should be. Easy to miss during development, annoying to discover during an audit six months later.

1. All images listed with preview
2. Missing alt text flagged clearly and highlighting
3. Alt text content display

Links Analyzer

Internal links, external links, anchor text, nofollow attributes. Listed, counted, all in one view with powerful highlighting on the page in a click. Useful before publishing and essential when you're studying how a well-ranking competitor page structures its links.

1. Internal vs. external link count
2. Anchor text analysis
3. Nofollow link detection

Schema Structured Data

Shows every JSON-LD and Microdata block on the page in a readable tree. There's a direct link to Google's Rich Results Test so you can validate it in one click without copying and pasting code.

1. JSON-LD, Microdata detection
2. Visual schema tree view
3. Direct link to schema validators

Page Performance Score

Runs a Lighthouse check and shows you a 0–100 performance score right in the popup. No need to open DevTools, no waiting for PageSpeed Insights to load.

1. Performance score 0–100
2.Excellent / Needs Work / Poor rating
3. Dashboard performance card

Content Insights

Word count, Flesch - Kincaid readability grade, and keyword density with a target you set. Run it before you publish to check if the piece hits the right depth or if you've pushed one keyword too hard.

1. Word count with benchmarks
2. Readability score (Flesch–Kincaid)
3. Keyword density analysis

AI-Powered SEO Assistant

Bring your own key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek. The AI reads the page's actual content, then writes optimized title and description suggestions and gives you a short list of things to fix. Results are cached for 24 hours so you're not burning API credits on the same page twice.

1. AI-generated meta title suggestions
2. AI-generated meta description
3. Context-aware SEO recommendations
4. 24-hour cache for repeated analysis

SEO Tools & Validators

One-click access to the page's sitemap.xml, robots.txt, and llms.txt. No more typing the same handful of URLs on every site you audit.

1. Sitemap.xml quick link
2. Robots.txt viewer
3. LLMs.txt checker
4. View page source
5. Schema.org validator links

Indexing Status Checker

Checks whether Google is allowed to index this page by reading the robots.txt rules, the X-Robots-Tag header, and the meta robots tag. All three. Because any one of them can silently block indexing on its own.

1. Robots.txt rule checker
2. X-Robots-Tag HTTP header check
3. Meta robots tag detection
4. HTTP status code display

FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Is SEO Action Plan extension really free?

Yes. Every core feature of the SEO Action Plan extension is free. No usage caps, no account, no credit card. The only caveat is the optional AI tab: we don’t charge you for it, but you need to bring your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek. The cost on those platforms is minimal for the kind of usage an extension involves, usually fractions of a cent per analysis.

What does this SEO Chrome extension actually check?

The extension analyzes: meta tags (title, description, robots, canonical, hreflang, author, viewport, lang), social tags (Open Graph, Twitter Card, LinkedIn), heading structure (H1–H6), image alt text, internal and external links, Schema.org structured data, page performance score, content insights (word count, readability, keyword density), and indexing status (robots.txt, X-Robots-Tag, HTTP status code).

Does it work on any website?

Yes. Your site, a competitor’s page, a staging environment, localhost. Any URL Chrome can load. There’s a toggle in the pop-up to disable the extension on specific sites if you don’t want it running somewhere.

How does the AI feature work?

You connect your own API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or DeepSeek. The extension sends the page’s SEO data to the model you chose, which reads the actual content and gives you title suggestions, a meta description, and a short list of recommendations specific to that page. Results are cached for 24 hours per page so you’re not burning credits running it multiple times on the same URL.

What is the full-page view?

After the analysis runs, you can click “Full Report” to open everything in a full browser tab. Same data as the popup, but with more room to read through it. The better view for a full audit or a client report.

Does the extension collect my data?

No. The analysis runs entirely inside your browser. Nothing gets sent to our servers because we don’t have any servers involved in the analysis. The permissions the extension requests are limited to reading the active tab and checking HTTP headers for the indexing feature. That’s it.

How is this different from other SEO Chrome extensions?

Most free SEO extensions do one or two things. SEO Action Plan covers the full on-page picture: technical tags, seo tags, heading, image, links, social previews, schema, content metrics, indexing status, all in one pop-up that loads in under a second. The AI feature is optional, but when you use it, it reads your actual page content rather than handing you generic advice.
